What to Expect During Your Stay

Upon your arrival in the town of Grand Falls-Windsor (unless picked up at the Gander International Airport) a representative of HLHFL will meet you at an agreed upon location within town at 2:00 pm. You will have the option to follow our representative, driving your own vehicle (if suitable and at your own risk), to the camp or you may park it at an agreed upon location and ride in with our representative. The ride to our camp takes approximately one hour and twenty minutes on a rough road. Upon arrival at our Main Lodge on Sunday, you’ll be greeted by our staff, enjoy some snack food and get settled into your room. We will head out to our practice target to shoot your rifles to ensure accuracy. Following that, we will head back to the lodge for license signing, to make your final payment, and for hunter-toguide assignment. We’ll finalize the evening with a social and delicious supper provided by our professional chef.

Continuing to our Spike Camp?

The remote hunt from the spike camp is a sixday hunt, Sunday to Sunday
Flights to and from the spike camp are subject to change due to inclement weather and flight availability
Chopper flights allow 50 lbs of luggage per person, plus riffle
Earlier flights out can be arranged at an additional cost, pending availability

During the week we will wake approximately 2 hours before daylight. There will be a light breakfast before we prepare and leave for morning hunting. Upon returning to the lodge/camp, we will enjoy a full breakfast, rest and light lunch before preparing and heading out for the afternoon/evening hunt. Lunches/snacks can be provided to take with you if you wish. Once all hunters and guides return, we will enjoy a well-prepared supper followed by a late evening to enjoy how you wish. We will offer you the choice of staying out for an all-day hunt pending hunting area and weather conditions.
