We’re into Week 5 of the 2024 hunting season here at Hideaway Lodge, and let me tell you—it’s been one heck of a ride so far! The hunts have been smooth, the moose have been plentiful, and the stories coming out of the lodge? Well, they’ll keep you entertained for a long time.
Moose, Bears, and Bog Walking for the Brave
The moose have kept us busy, and there’s been plenty of excitement with a few black bears joining the fun too. Hunters are heading home with serious trophies and big smiles. First-timers have been getting their first taste of Newfoundland’s famous bog walking. While it’s definitely an adventure, they’ve been embracing it like seasoned pros. And for our returning hunters, it’s been a warm welcome back—because once you’ve been to Hideaway, you’re practically family.
The Weather’s Playing Nice (Mostly)
We’ve had great hunting weather this season. Cool, crisp mornings have made for ideal conditions, and even though we’ve had a little rain here and there, it hasn’t slowed us down. A bit of mud just adds to the adventure when you’re tracking down a bull moose.
Lodge Life – Good Friends, Good Times
When the day’s hunting is done, the lodge has been buzzing. First-time hunters, seasoned veterans, everyone’s swapping stories, kicking back, and enjoying the good life. And let’s not forget Chip, our resident attention-seeker, who’s been making new friends left and right.
What’s Next? More Hunts, More Memories
With several weeks still ahead, there’s plenty of excitement to come. The moose hunts have been incredible, and we’ve seen some impressive black bears too. The season is shaping up to be one for the books, and we’re thrilled to see what else unfolds.
